Semester: Fall 2010

Course: EE93 Music Recording and Production

Summary:

This is a duet arrangement of the classic Dave Brubeck song “Take Five” for piano and baritone sax co-arranged by my classmate Andrew Kluger and me. This recording features Andrew on piano and vocals and myself on baritone sax.

The song was recorded in Fischer performance center using a stereo pair of Rode NT1A microphone in an X-Y configuration. The purpose of this assignment was to create an interesting stereo image using the positioning of the performers, microphones, and grand. I was also responsible for engineering the recording session in Pro Tools and mastering the final product.
